Capturing Memories: Tips on Preparing Your Kids for a Successful Photoshoot
HOW TO PREPARE KIDS FOR A PHOTOSHOOT.

Make sure kids are comfortable in what they are wearing. Ensure that your kids are comfortable in their chosen outfits. If your child dislikes what they're wearing, it will reflect in the photos. This might mean skipping that adorable hair clip or the sweet bow tie that completes the outfit. Trust me, happy kids make for better photos than accessories. Additionally, consider the weather when dressing them to ensure they are not too cold or too hot.
Timing is key. Scheduling a photo session during your child's nap time or mealtime could lead to disaster. Ensure your kids are well-fed and well-rested. Plan to arrive early at the location so that your kids can acclimate to the surroundings. While a photographer may have preferred shooting times due to lighting, it's essential to consider your child's schedule. If the timing isn't right for your kids, capturing good photos might be more challenging.
Talk to your kids before about the photo shoot. Give them a heads up before the day, explaining what the session will involve and emphasizing how much fun it will be. For older children, set expectations regarding their behavior during the shoot.
Let your child smile naturally! Parents, resist the urge to instruct them on how to smile. Instead, focus on being silly and eliciting genuine emotions. Making your child laugh or smile naturally will result in the best photos.
Bribes and rewards. Offering incentives like lollipops, toys, or ice cream afterward can encourage children to behave nicely during the photoshoot. Find something exciting for your child that serves as a reward for their cooperation.
Stay positive and have fun! Your kids will pick up on your mood, so take deep breaths, relax, and enjoy the experience. Remember, nothing needs to be perfect; I'm capturing your family just as you are at this point in time.
